Modulim Announces Medical Advisory Board

Modulim, recognized leader in optical imaging solutions for the noninvasive assessment of tissue health, is pleased to announce that it has appointed six inaugural members to its newly-formed Medical Advisory Board.

The board members include top practicing and community-based clinicians who have a wide range of skills and expertise in areas such as practice management, reimbursement and patient care and are committed to facilitating advancements in the treatment of foot complications, including ulcers, nonhealing wounds, infections and amputations.

The company’s proprietary spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI) based technology solution – the Clarifi^TM Imaging System – may be used by clinicians to help them identify compromised circulation that can’t be detected by physical assessment.

Matthew G. Garoufalis, DPM, FASPS, FACFAOM, CWS, FFPM, RCPS (Glasg), is in private practice at Professional Foot Care Specialists, PC, and is the Immediate Past President of the International Federation of Podiatrists and Past President of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).

Michael J. King, DPM, FACFAS, FASPS, has been in private practice for 32 years in New England and is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery; he currently serves as the Medical Director of Upperline Healthcare, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee, and is the Past President of both the APMA and the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society.

Kevin C. Jennifer Spector, DPM, FACFAS, is a Podiatric Surgeon, President and Executive Board of the American Association for Women Podiatrists (AAWP), and former AAWP Scientific Conference Chair.

Phillip E. Ward, DPM, provides podiatric services at Cape Fear Valley Foot and Ankle Center in North Carolina and is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Ward is Past President of the APMA, a Member of the American Medical Association’s Editorial Board and a Current Procedural Terminology Assistant and APMA Advisor to The American Medical Association (Current Procedural Terminology Panel).

Modulim’s Medical Advisory Board will meet regularly to provide input on clinical research, best practices, product design, and clinical education. The Medical Advisory Board will serve as a strategic resource as the company establishes partnerships with leading clinical centers of excellence.
